Assign Material

Will assign the selected material, by name, to the incoming objects.

 

          Parameters

 

Material Name

The name of the material to be applied to the incoming objects.

 


 

Atmospherics Toggle

Toggles "On" or "Off" the Active property for the specified atmospherics located in the Environment and Effects dialog.

 

Parameters

 

Atmospheric Names

The name of the scene material which will be assigned to the incoming objects connected in the graph. Case sensitivity is ignored.

Enabled

The name of the scene material which will be assigned to the incoming objects connected in the graph.

 


 

Layer Properties

This node controls layer properties for the incoming layers connected in the graph. You must have selected one or more layers using Layers By Name node, which then plugs into this node.

 

Rendering Parameters

 

Hidden

Hides the layer's objects in the viewport and from rendering.

 

Renderable

Toggles the layer's objects visibility in rendered output.

 

Inherit Visibility

Causes the layer's objects to inherit the visibility of its parent. 

 

Visible to Camera

When on, the layer's objects are visible to cameras in the scene. When off, cameras do not render them. 

 

Visible to Reflection/Refraction

When on, the layer's objects appear in rendered reflections and refractions. When off, they do not appear in rendered reflections or refractions.

 

Receive Shadows

When on, the layer's objects can receive shadows.

 

Cast Shadows

When on, the layer's objects can cast shadows.

 


 

Light Properties

This node controls the light properties for the incoming objects that are lights.

 

Parameters

 

On

Controls whether the lights are turned on or off.

 

Multiplier

The intensity multiplier of a light.

 

Color

Sets the color of the light being emitted.

 


 

Modifier Isolate

Used to turn off all modifiers except for the user specified one. Useful for toggling modifiers on a per shot basis. For more information see Isolating Modifiers.

 

Parameters

 

Method

Determines whether the objects to affect will be the incoming objects or the entire scene of objects.

 

Input Objects

Indicates that only the incoming objects will be affected.

 

Scene Objects

Indicates that all scene objects will be affected.

 

Prefix

Any object's modifier that contains this prefix will be turned Off.

 

Suffix

The suffix is used to find which modifier, within the modifiers that contain the prefix, that will be turned On.

 


 

Modifier Toggle

Controls where a modifier is enabled or disabled based on it's visible name in the modifier stack. For more information see Toggling Modifiers.

 

Parameters

 

Modifier Names

The name of the modifiers that will be affected on the incoming objects. Case sensitivity is ignored. For more information see the Using * Wildcard.

 

Enabled

Disables or enables the modifier.

 


 

Object Properties

Controls properties in the Rendering Control section of the Object Properties dialog.

 

Display Parameters

 

Hidden

Hides the objects in the viewport and from rendering.

 

Display as Box

When on will display scene objects as bounding boxes. This vastly improves viewport performance and scene loading time.

 

Rendering Parameters

 

Renderable

Toggles the objects visibility in rendered output. 

 

Inherit Visibility

Causes the objects to inherit the visibility of their parents. 

 

Visible to Camera

When on, the objects are visible to cameras in the scene. When off, these objects will not show in renders, but will cast shadows and reflections. 

 

Visible to Reflection/Refraction

When on, the objects appear in rendered reflections and refractions. When off, the objects will not appear in rendered reflections or refractions.

 

Receive Shadows

When on, the objects can receive shadows.

 

Cast Shadows

When on, the objects can cast shadows.

 

Apply Atmospherics

When on, atmospheric effects are applied to the objects, otherwise if off, atmospheric effects do not affect them.

 

Render Occluded Objects

When on, allows special effects to affect objects in the scene that are occluded by these objects. 

 

Object ID

The value determining the object's G-buffer channel.

 

Wirecolor

The color swatch shows the object's wirecolor color. You can click the swatch to display the Color dialog and select a different color.

 


 

Reset

Used to reset properties to their default values for the entire file.

 

Parameters

 

Clear User Defined Properties

Clears all user defined properties on scene objects.

 

Deactivate All Atmospherics

Deactivates all the atmospherics in 3ds Max's environments and effects.

 

Remove All Render Elements

Clears the active list of render elements.

 

Unhide All Layers

Will unhide all the layers found in 3ds max.

 

Hide All Objects

Hides all the objects in 3ds Max.

 


 

Visibility

Used to control the visibility of scene objects.

 

Parameters

 

All, Cameras, Geometry, Helpers, Lights, Shapes, Spacewarps

Any combination of parameters can be used.

          

Ignore

Will skip performing any action for the parameter

 

Hide

Will hide this parameter’s targeted objects

 

Unhide

Will unhide this parameter’s targeted objects

 


 

XRefObjects

This node is used to control various properties of the XRef Objects currently loaded in file.

 

Parameters

 

Name

The name of the XRef reference affect. If using a wildcard, multiple XRefs can be targeted. Case sensitivity is ignored. For more information see the Using * Wildcard.

 

Enabled

When on, will enabled the XRef, otherwise it will be turned off.

 


 

XRefScenes

This node is used to control various properties of the XRef Scenes currently loaded in the file.

 

Parameters

 

Name

The name of the XRef reference to affect. If using a wildcard, multiple XRefs can be targeted. Case sensitivity is ignored. For more information see the Using * Wildcard.

 

Hidden

When on, will visibly hide the XRef in the viewport. When off, will make the XRef visible in the viewport.

 

Disabled

When on, will disable the XRef. When off, the XRef will be enabled.
