The Graph View is the most important view of Vexus. You'll be spending a lot of time here. This is where you are going to build your render passes by connecting nodes together! As expected this view occupies most of the available screen space. This is where you will add, organize and connect nodes together in order to create your setups.

 


 

Navigation

Below we will cover the various ways to navigate around the graph view.

 

Panning

Move around the 2D graph view.

 

Option 1: hold middle mouse button and pan

Option 2: press and hold the space-bar and left mouse click and pan

 

 

 

Zooming

Zoom in and out of the 2D graph view.

 

Option 1: mouse wheel

Option 2: press and hold alt and press and hold the middle mouse button and pan left to zoom in or pan right to zoom out

 

 


 

Working With Nodes

Below we will cover the various ways to navigate around the graph view.

 

 

Create Nodes Using The Hotbox

The hotbox allows users to quickly and easily search the entire node library directly in the graph and create nodes.

 

          Option 1: press tab

 

 

 

Create Nodes Using The Library

Create nodes by dragging them from the node library list and drop them into the graph view.

 

          Option 1: select and drag-n-drop

 

 

 

Create Nodes On The Fly

The hotbox allows users to quickly and easily search the entire node library directly in the graph and create nodes.

 

Option 1: click the pin of a node and drag out the connection and release the mouse click

 

 

 

Standard Connection

Creates a link between nodes, which controls the order of operations.

 

Option 1: click drag from the pin of one node to the pin of another node

 

 

 

Insert Node

Inserts the selected node into the targeted connection chain.

 

Option 1: press and hold x

 

 

 

Dislodge Node

Removes the selected nodes from their respected connection chain.

 

Option 1: press ctrl, shift and x

 

 

 

Append to Selection

Appends clicked graph view items to the current selection.

 

Option 1: ctrl and click

Option 2: ctrl and click and drag

 

 

 

Delete a Connection

Deletes the clicked connection.

 

Option 1: alt and click a connection

Option 2: select the line and press the delete key

 

 

 

Reassign a Connection

Move a connection from one node to another node

 

Option 1: shift and click a connection

 

 

 

Duplicate Connections

Duplicate any number of selected connections and assign them to another node.

 

Option 1: select the lines to duplicate, then press and hold ctrl and shift and click anywhere in the graph view

 

 

 

Select Parent/Child Nodes

Selects the parent or child nodes of the current selection.

 

Option 1: press page up or press page down

Option 2: press and hold ctrl and press page up or page down to append to selection

 

 

 

Inverse Selection

Inverses the current selection in the graph view.

 

Option 1: press ctrl and i

 

 

 

Create Multiple Connections

Users can create multiple connections simultaneously.

 

Option 1: select all the nodes you want to create connections from, then click the pin of any of the selected nodes and drag out the connection

 

 

 

Group Selection

Will create a groupbox for the current selection.

 

Option 1: press ctrl and g

 

 

 

Select group contents

Selects all the child contents of a groupbox.

 

Option 1: select groupbox and then press ctrl, shift and g

 

 

 

          Cloning

Users can clone the selected nodes along with contained connections.

 

Option 1: select graph items and shift click and drag

 

 

 

Copy / Paste Settings

Users can copy settings from one node to another.

 

Option 1: right-click a selected node and choose copy settings, and then paste onto another selected node
