Hi,
So far enjoying trying to work out how to use Vexus, and been getting most of the automation I need, but only when in the model file. My setup requires a near empty "render" file, loading in models via xrefscenes.
It seems I can control layers from the xref's, turning on and off to create layers, but using material iteration is not working - I guess because the models are not in the scene to have the override applied.
Doesnt anyone know of a work around or other solution? I'm thining worst case, using a pre-render script to merge all xrefs into the file, so the geo is then able to be amended, but that will have a massive negative effect on our workflow - that being we can save over the xref scenes, and restart renders in deadline and the new models are picked up.
Thanks,
Controlling material iterations but with Xrefscenes

Hi,
I wonder if "parking" the materials in question in a vexus helper within your scene ( https://boomerlabs.com/vexus_dir/docume ... pic490.htm ) might allow you to keep the materials in question in your scene without requiring that you load the XREF first.
Would this work?
